Innertude®: It’s Your Stance, Not Your Circumstances A Keynote For Those Confronting Tough Times It’s not your circumstances that determine what kind of a day you will have. You do! Three clients were stuck in a traffic jam at the Pentagon when the plane crashed on 9/11. From identical circumstances, each one reacted differently to that situation. Each had a different internal stance, and it was that stance that determined how they handled it; not the shared circumstance. We can master our own inner stances to withstand the most traumatic, deflating, and oppressive of circumstances. Many think they would be happier, more content, peaceful, if only their circumstances would change. They make themselves totally dependent for how they will feel based on what goes on outside them. Environment may influence your mood, but you make yourself a victim to whatever comes your way. How, then, do you begin to float your own boat? When you undergo a personal “cabin depressurization,” leading to collapse, cave-in, or loss of internal support in your daily life dealings, you need to confront these pressures head on. This is where Innertude® comes in. Innertude® is a highly positive mental attitude of sustainable support from within. It serves as a counter-pressure that staves off implosion, and buttresses you from the most oppressive of pressures. You are ready to bounce back from the major potholes of life! Attitude is Everything! Your attitude is one thing you can control in your life. So, choose the attitude that supports you from within. Innertude® is that attitude. It carries a dignity and nobility all its own. More than just posture, it is a generative attitude that pulls you up by your own bootstraps. Inflate, inspire, and assume your full stature by breathing into specific physical areas depressed by concerns or shriveled by fear, You can begin by hammering out your own dents and restoring your own self-respect, dignity, and presence. Establishing an innertude® requires will power, personal awareness, and the fierce determination to support yourself no matter what is going on outside you. That means you will no longer carp, whine, and expect to be rewarded for holding onto pain – the stance of a victim. Rather, you will confront and overcome challenges, refusing to bruise or be held down – the stance of a victor. Remove the payoff you have arranged from pain, disappointments, reversals. Circumstances will lose their power over you as you take initiative for how you will approach your day, relate to others, and maintain your mood. |
